Privacy Policy

StudentHub is built for students aged 13–18 and for adults such as older students, educators and mentors. Because minors use the platform, we try to collect as little personal data as possible and we do not run advertising, profiling or behavioural tracking.

Account data (required). Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), or, if you use Google Sign-In, the name, email address and profile picture Google returns. This is needed to create and secure your account and to contact you about your account (for example password resets).

Profile data (optional). Display name, school, country, grade level, bio, skills, interests, achievements and profile picture. You choose what to fill in. If your profile is public, other signed-in students can see it. You can edit or clear any of this on your profile page.

Learning preferences (optional). Learning goals, favourite subjects and learning style, used to personalise recommendations and the AI study features. Stored privately and not shown on your public profile.

Content you create. Lessons, notes, questions and answers, comments, team posts and team descriptions, team messages, feedback reports, and files you upload. Needed to provide the feature you are using. Team messages and uploaded team files are visible only to that team; private study notes and files are visible only to you.

Activity data. Lesson progress, library topic progress, saved opportunities, application tracking, study sessions, quiz and flashcard results, calendar events and reminders, finance-tracker entries you add yourself, and notifications. Used to show you your own progress and plans.

Subscription data. If you buy StudentHub Pro, we store your subscription status, plan, billing period, and the identifiers our payment provider gives us. Card details, UPI details and bank details are entered on the payment provider's own screens and are never received or stored by StudentHub.

Technical data. Our hosting and database providers process standard request information (including IP address, browser type and timestamps) in their server logs in order to run and secure the service. StudentHub does not maintain its own separate analytics profile of you.

• We do not run advertising, ad networks or advertising cookies.
• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not use third-party analytics or marketing tracking scripts — none are installed on this site.
• We do not ask for your date of birth, phone number or home address.
• We do not build behavioural profiles for marketing purposes.

If you choose “Continue with Google”, you are taken to Google's own sign-in screen. You select your Google account there; StudentHub never sees your Google password. After you approve, we receive your name, email address, a Google account identifier and (where available) your profile picture URL. We use these to create or open your StudentHub account and to display your name and picture in the app.

If an account with the same email address already exists, Google Sign-In opens that existing account rather than creating a second one. Google's own handling of your data is governed by Google's privacy policy, which we do not control.

We share personal data only with service providers that operate the platform, and only as needed:

• Our cloud database, authentication, storage and hosting provider — stores accounts, content and files.
• Razorpay — processes Pro subscription payments and holds the payment details you enter.
• OpenAI — receives the text you submit to the AI study and mentor features in order to generate a response.
• Our transactional email provider — sends account emails such as password resets.
• YouTube (Google) — embedded lesson videos are loaded from YouTube when you open a topic page, so YouTube receives your request data.

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, or where necessary to investigate abuse or protect users' safety.

The AI mentor, note generation, flashcards, quizzes and planners send the text or notes you provide to an external AI provider to produce a response. Do not paste sensitive personal information about yourself or others into these features. AI output can be inaccurate and should be checked against your own course materials.

• Account, profile and content data: kept while your account exists.
• Content you delete: removed from the app when you delete it.
• Account deletion: your account, profile, content, messages and uploaded files are deleted when you delete your account.
• Payment and subscription records: retained by our payment provider under its own rules, and retained by us where needed for accounting and dispute handling.
• Provider server logs: retained under those providers' own retention settings.

Exact retention periods for financial records and security logs still need to be set as a business and legal decision; they are not yet fixed.

You can, from inside the app:

• View and correct your profile and preferences on your profile page.
• See what we hold and permanently delete your account and data from privacy settings.
• Delete individual lessons, notes, questions, answers, team posts and files you created.
• Make your profile private so other students cannot browse it.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights (such as access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal or complaint to a regulator). Requests can be made through the in-app feedback button until a dedicated privacy contact address is published.

StudentHub is intended for students aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, you should use StudentHub with the knowledge of a parent, guardian or teacher. Do not post your phone number, home address, school timetable or other identifying details in public content, questions, team posts or messages.

Whether verifiable parental or guardian consent is legally required for our users, and in which form, has not yet been legally assessed. No parental-consent mechanism is currently implemented, and we flag this openly rather than implying otherwise.

Accounts are protected by our authentication provider, passwords are never stored in readable form, all traffic uses HTTPS, and database access rules restrict each record to the people allowed to see it. Uploaded team and study files are stored in private buckets. No system is perfectly secure; please report anything suspicious through the feedback button.

We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and remember interface preferences — see the Cookie Policy.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Questions, corrections, deletion requests and complaints can be raised through the in-app feedback button.

This policy describes our actual practices as accurately as we can, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is not a claim of full compliance with any particular law.
